Thailand has officially expanded its government incentives designed to attract international animation, visual effects (VFX), and post-production projects. Foreign companies that outsource eligible digital content production to qualified Thai studios can now secure a flat 20% cash rebate on qualifying Thai service fees.
Importantly, foreign projects qualify for this incentive even if the principal live-action photography takes place entirely outside of Thailand. The rebate is based strictly on the eligible digital services performed locally by qualified Thai production companies.
ELIGIBLE DIGITAL SERVICES
The government incentive applies to a wide range of qualified digital production categories, ensuring comprehensive coverage for modern streaming, broadcast, and theatrical media:
- Animation pipelines for feature films, TV series, and commercials
- Cinematic Visual Effects (VFX) and environment compositions
- High-fidelity CG character design, modeling, and rigging assets
- Game cinematics, trailer captures, and real-time engine assets
- Immersive Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/XR) content
- Full suite digital post-production and mastering services
